Structure and effect of the diode laser<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In contrast to the IPL or SHR method, the diode laser works with bundled light. The diode laser 808 has been given its specific name by the preset wavelength. Unlike the IPL method, the diode laser wavelength is set to 808 nm. The concentrated light ensures a targeted punctual treatment of each individual hair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The risk of burns is further reduced due to the frequent impulses and the associated lower energy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

What happens in the body?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Each hair root contains protein, which is essential for the growth of the hair. Due to the heat generated during the treatment, this protein denatures and the hair will automatically fall out after a certain time. New hair does not grow back due to the lack of nutrients. This basic principle is used by many laser methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The diode laser, with its wavelength of 808 nm, is perfectly tuned for optimal energy transfer to the melanin of the hair while at the same time gentle on the skin. Melanin is an endogenous dye that converts the light into heat. In a diode laser treatment, the handpiece is guided over the bodies to be treated. Meanwhile, the diode laser emits controlled light pulses. This is due to the collimated light unlike the IPL method. The light penetrates into the hair root and is then absorbed by the melanin.<\/p>\n\n\n

The energy of light<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The absorption of light increases the temperature in the hair follicle and leads to the denaturation of the proteins that are responsible for the growth. Without these particular proteins, the hair root will no longer get the needed nutrients and will therefore fail after a while. For this reason, no new hair grows after a successful treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to the constant wavelength of 808 nm, the heat penetrates only into the skin layer, which is also occupied by hair papillae. There is no impairment of other skin layers. Surrounding tissue as well as blood remains just as unaffected, as the blood pigment (hemoglobin) reacts to a different wavelength.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This treatment only has an effect when the hair is in its growth phase, that is an active connection of the respective hair to the hair root, so that the light can reach the hair root. To achieve the desired result of a hair-free skin, several sessions are needed to treat every single hair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Diode laser treatment only shows effect when the hair is in its growth phase. This means that there must be an active connection of the respective hair to its hair root in order for the light to reach the hair base. In order to treat each hair, several sessions are necessary. The exact number depends on various factors in the body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before the diode laser treatment<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Before treatment, it is important that you do not epilate hair in the area to be treated or remove it otherwise together with the hair root. A shave remains possible because the hair is removed only superficially. The hair root is also essential for treatment with the diode laser as well as other methods of permanent hair removal* with light. The bundled rays of light move along the hair and reach the hair root. For this reason, at least 4 weeks before treatment, hair may only be removed superficially.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Immediately before the treatment we cover up liver or pigment spots or leave them completely out during the treatment. The reason for this is the high proportion of melanin, which is in these spots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tattoos should also not be treated under any circumstances, as they could show a change in color through a treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After diode laser treatment<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After a diode laser treatment, slight redness may occur, which usually subsides within one to two days. To prevent this, you can apply soothing care products such as chamomile or aloe vera to the treated area. If the redness does not diminish after this short period, please schedule a follow-up appointment with us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Avoid intensive sunbathing or visits to the solarium, as the skin has temporarily lost its natural protection against UV rays due to the strong light treatment. We recommend applying a sun blocker to protect the skin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
